Boss 7: Lillian Voss

Last updated: 5/9/25

This boss is a much quicker fight than any of the previous ones. It is entirely about the mechanics. If you feel you aren’t doing enough DPS, your tanks aren’t sturdy enough, or you don’t have enough healing, it’s because your raiders aren’t doing the mechanics right.

Lillian Voss

You will only be attacking Voss during this encounter. She should be tanked in the center of the field. She has very few mechanics herself.

Ambition

Periodically, Voss will cast Ambition. She will gain a stack of Ambitious Pursuit for each 10% health remaining from each player; each stack buffs her haste by 5%.

Because almost all raid damage in this fight is entirely avoidable, Ambition is essentially a “mechanics check” that penalizes the tank/healers for any raiders that are slipping up on mechanics.

Debilitating Strike

Puts a debuff on the current tank that absorbs the next 40000 healing they receive. Effectively a 100% Mortal Strike that must be outhealed rather than dispelled. Tanks can either tauntswap back and forth, or you can have an OT taunt for a short time to receive the debuff before the MT taunts back.

Scarlet Grasp

After a 4 second cast, Voss drags all players close to her. She casts this in sync with the abilities Putress casts on the raid.

Putress

Putress is flagged as friendly, and he wanders around the outer walkway. During the encounter, he’ll cast a variety of abilities on the raid.

Putress begins casting 15 seconds into the fight, and each mechanic lasts around 15 seconds. None of these abilities will overlap, and they are cast randomly, similar to Class Calls.

For most abilities, Lillian Voss will also cast Scarlet Grasp to drag the raid to the center of the arena. For mechanics that require you to run out, save sprint cooldowns until after Scarlet Grasp has been cast.

Unstable Concoction

Putress will mark 4 random players with a bomb. These players must run out of the raid; after 7 seconds, it will explode, severely damaging the targets and any players close to them.

This deals around 3k damage in a 10 yard radius when it detonates.

Noxious Posion

Putress puts this DoT on 5 random players. When the debuff expires (after 8 seconds) or gets cleansed (poison dispel), it will put a small (6yd) Toxic Pool on the ground that will damage any players within it. Be very careful to not dispel this early before players have moved out to safety. Basically a cross between BWL’s Green Trial and Grobbulus’ Mutating Injection.

These Toxic Pools stay for the remainder of the fight, so targets should run to the outer ring and try to fill up the corners with acid first.

Ignite

Putress applies a raid-wide fire DoT that lasts 15 seconds and deals ~500 damage per second. However, it doesn’t just hurt you; it also hurts any players within 5 yards of you. If you’re standing alone, you’ll take 500 damage each tick, but if two players are stacked, each player will take 1000 damage per tick. Spread out, even if it means you can’t deal damage during this mechanic.

During the entire fight, you should be pre-spread in anticipation of Ignite. Ranged and healers should leave a large gap in the center of the room for melee to spread into when it goes out.

Intoxicating Venom

Putress applies this raid-wide. Similar to Stop!/Go! from SoD BWL’s Twin Drakes, the basic premise here is that you’ll take damage as long as you aren’t moving. It’s a bit different though, because it continually builds stacks that hurt you more and reduce your speed further the longer you aren’t moving.

During an Intoxicating Venom phase, all players are checked every second for movement - if they’ve been stationary for the last second, they will gain a stack, but if they’ve been moving, they will drop all of their stacks.

If you reach 5 stacks (5 seconds of no movement), you will be frozen in place for 6 seconds. This means you can get short casts off as long as you immediately move after to constantly re-drop stacks before they get too high.

Poison Bolt

After 10 minutes, Putress will rapidly damage the raid. This is basically the berserk timer.
