Ouro

Last updated: 8/2/26

Ouro will occasionally switch between being above ground and being submerged. He has a different set of abilities in each form. He can only be damaged when above ground.

Phase 1 - Above Ground

Sand Blast

Sand Blast is fairly unique and requires some intelligent counterplay. It’s a 180° frontal cone, like a wider breath, that gets cast in the direction of the highest threat target. However, because Ouro is not mobile, the highest threat target is not necessarily always the tank. Anyone hit by Sand Blast will have their threat wiped.

The ‘correct’ way to fight this boss is to have all of your raid engage him from one side (towards the center of the room). When Sand Blast is about to go out (watch DBM timers), whoever is the top threat (whether or not they’re a tank) should run to his opposite side (closer to the wall) so that the Sand Blast is cast away from the raid. Rinse and repeat.

Sweep

Periodically knocks back players in melee range. Melee absolutely love running back to bosses that knock them away!

Phase 2 - Submerged

Ouro submerges after being above ground for 3 minutes. Spread out during this phase to avoid the damage areas.

Quake

Ouro summons earthquakes in random areas, denoted by falling rocks that land in the area. Deals damage over time, run out.

Scarabs

Ouro summons many scarab adds during submerge phase. Round them up and burn them down. If there are adds up when he emerges, bring them to the boss so they get cleaved.

Ground Rupture

When Ouro emerges, he deals damage and knocks back any players caught near his emerge point.

Phase 3 - Berserk

Berserk

At 20% health, Ouro will go berserk. While berserk, he will stay above ground, but he has access to both above ground and submerged abilities.

On this fight’s hard mode, your raid will have the following additional debuffs:

Curse of Despair (Rank 3): Raid-wide DoT (curse).

Curse of Decay (Rank 3): Reduces max health of all players by 10%.

Curse of Madness (Rank 2): Periodically, a giant Eye of C’Thun will spawn. Players need to immediately look away from the Eye (rotate your character to face away) or else they will be hit with Blinding Admiration, dazing them and dealing ~3k damage.
