Gehennas
Last updated: 7/12/26
Another Flamewaker fight.
Here are the abilities to watch for:
Gehennas
- Shadow Bolt: Hurls a bolt of dark magic, inflicting 2250 to 2750 Shadow damage.
- Rain of Fire: Calls down a molten rain, burning all players in a selected area for 368 Fire damage every 2 sec. for 6 sec.
- Gehennas’ Curse: Reduces healing effects by 75% for 5 min. Curse dispel.
Flamewaker
- Fist of Ragnaros: Stuns nearby players, rendering them unable to move or attack for 4 sec.
- Sunder Armor: Reduces armor by 10% per Sunder Armor. Stacks up to 5 times. Lasts 20 sec.
- Strike: Strikes at a player, inflicting normal damage plus 200.
The adds should be off-tanked away from the boss. DPS focus Gehennas.
There are two primary things to watch for here - Rain of Fire and Gehennas’ Curse.
As far as the fire goes, simply move out of it. It isn’t permanent, but when running out of it, be sure to run towards, not away from, your decursers/healers.
For the curse, everyone capable (including DPS) must decurse the tank and players who are taking damage. Leave curses on players who have full health, unless they’re a tank; instead focus your efforts on those who need it.
Heat Level Changes
Compared to Vanilla:
- In SoD there are 4 adds instead of 2.
- The adds will revive unless all 4 are killed simultaneously (like Core Hound packs).
In addition to needing 96 Fire Resist:
- Shadow Bolt does less damage, but is cast at random players rather than threat-based.
- Gehennas’ Curse prevents all healing rather than reducing by 75%.
In addition to needing 226 Fire Resist:
- Smoldering Aegis: The adds take 75% less damage. If you were killing adds first on lower Heat levels, you really shouldn’t on Heat 3.
