Baron Geddon

Last updated: 7/12/26

Here are the abilities to watch for:

  • Inferno: Baron Geddon surrounds himself with an inferno that periodically inflicts Fire damage to nearby players for 8 sec. While channeling, he cannot move or use other abilities.
  • Ignite Mana: Burns 400 mana from nearby players every 3 sec. for 5 min. Each point of mana that is destroyed also damages the target from which it is consumed.
  • Living Bomb: Puts a debuff on 1-3 players (based on Heat level). After 8 seconds, the bomb explodes, inflicting 3200 Fire damage to the target and nearby players.
  • Armageddon: When his health gets low, Baron Geddon self-destructs, killing all players. If this cast finishes, he will begin rapidly damaging the entire raid every second until everyone is dead.

This fight is identical to Vanilla on Heat 1. You can pull him wherever you’d like, stack the ranged, and have a designated spot for Living Bomb targets to run to. Melee run out during Inferno, but keep him in the same place. Tanks can usually eat the Inferno damage.

On higher heat levels, you need to use a different strategy. Have a Hunter, Warlock, or similar pull the boss remotely by sending their pet into Shazz’s room. The rest of the raid should be positioned in Garr’s room. Baron should come through the tunnel. Once engaged properly, tanks should start by holding Baron near the entrance to the tunnel, then rotate clockwise around the room as he casts each Inferno. Living Bomb targets should head towards the entrance to the tunnel - essentially, bombs go left, Baron goes right, and the raid follows Baron. Never drop Living Bombs where you plan to eventually move Baron because you’ll scorch that ground prematurely.
