Here are the abilities to watch for:

Garr

  • Antimagic Pulse: Dispels 1 beneficial magic effect from nearby players.
  • Magma Shackles: Reduces the movement speed of nearby players by 60% for 15 sec.

Firesworn

  • Immolate: Inflicts 337 Fire damage and scorches for an additional 168 damage every 3 sec. for 21 sec.
  • Eruption: Upon death, Firesworn explode, dealing 1850 damage and knocking back nearby players.

You can take two approaches to this fight - either kill the adds, or ignore them and burn the boss.

For the former, CC the adds with Banish (Warlocks) and kill them one at a time before moving to the boss. However, this takes a long time and means all of your buffs will almost certainly be dispelled - including consumes!

Buffs without expiration timers (Paladin auras, Shaman totems) cannot be dispelled, and flasks cannot be dispelled either, but nearly every other form of buff or consumable can be.

Alternatively, round up the adds and have your offtank hold them while the DPS burns the boss.


Heat Level Changes

Compared to Vanilla:

  • In SoD there are 4 adds instead of 8, but they are much stronger.
  • Periodically, Garr will spawn Magmakin enemies that charge at random players and explode, knocking back anyone caught in the explosion.

In addition to needing 96 Fire Resist:

  • The adds can only be banished until Garr reaches 80% health, at which point they become immune.

In addition to needing 226 Fire Resist:

  • No additional changes.
