Lucifron

This is a traditional Flamewaker fight.

Most Flamewaker fights share a central theme - a primary boss (Lucifron, in this case) is joined by a number of lesser Flamewaker adds. The adds are typically optional, and it’s usually better to focus the boss.

Here are the abilities to watch for:

Lucifron

  • Impending Doom: Deals 2000 Shadow damage to afflicted players after a 10 second incubation. Magic dispel.
  • Lucifron’s Curse: Curses players, doubling the resource costs of their spells and abilities for 5 min. Curse dispel, prioritize healers.
  • Shadow Shock: His primary attack, inflicts Shadow damage on your tank.

Flamewaker Protectors

  • Cleave: Inflicts weapon damage plus 85 to target and nearby players, affecting up to 3 targets.
  • Dominate Mind: Takes control of a player for 15 sec. Can be offensively magic dispelled (Priests and Shamans).

On this fight, the main tank should hold Lucifron and the offtank should drag the adds away to minimize the raid getting cleaved. DPS should burn the boss. Any DPS capable of dispelling magic or curses should focus those when they occur.

Realistically, only the decurse is critical; 2000 damage was a lot to players in vanilla, but in SoD, assuming you’re wearing close to prebis, most players will have well above that amount of health.


Heat Level Changes

Compared to Vanilla:

  • In SoD there are 3 adds instead of 2.
  • The adds will revive unless all 3 are killed simultaneously (like the nearby Core Hound packs).

In addition to needing 96 Fire Resist:

  • Fired Up: The adds will constantly heal themselves.

In addition to needing 226 Fire Resist:

  • No additional changes.
